Pangaea

200 million years ago the earth’s land was a united mass surrounded by water.
Underground rifts deep below the surface began to pull at Pangaea’s foundation at an imperceptibly slow pace.
Oceans as vast as ideologies slipped through cracks of doubt and crevices of suffering.
Time passed between the magnetic poles and their dividing forces swelled and strengthened.
All that remained to connect this planet was the unrequited love of trees.

“A forest knows things. They wire themselves up underground.
There are brains down there, ones our own brains aren't shaped to see.
Link enough trees together, and a forest grows aware.”

― Richard Powers, The Overstory
